The Maverick is a minimalist style and comes with western D ring for you to use your own latigo straps and cinch. The drop from the base of the withers to the bottom edge is 18". The felt on the bottom is 1/2" thick 100% pressed wool felt. The hardware is stainless steel and the top is suede cowhide. There is 1/4" foam in the seat in addition to the felt. 
 
The inner support core is intended to help prevent pressure points from your seat bones. If you want more support for your horse either add a good saddle pad under it or take a look at the Ranger Bareback Pad or the Ranger Soft Saddle.
